From the Edinburgh Evening News 18th January 2010 ...
A COMMUNITY project in the Capital plans to appoint six
energy advisers to help people cut fuel costs and reduce emissions.
The carbon-conscious North Edinburgh Trust has already been carrying out
pioneering work to help families cut their energy costs, make life healthier and
do their bit in the battle against climate change.
Now it hopes to
appoint a team of energy advisers, drawn from the local community, to help
individuals and families get the most from environmental
initiatives.
Trust chief executive Jackie McKenna said: "The North
Edinburgh Trust's own research has shown that households in the area can benefit
from energy use reductions of up to almost half, and make huge savings on their
costs, banishing for many the threat of fuel poverty.
"Every household
could help cut carbon emissions, and make real savings for families.
"We
need to get that message out to everyone, and that's what the energy adviser
team will help us do."
