Opportunity on Our Doorstep
As a community development trust, the North Edinburgh Trust has expanded its remit to include the delivery of increased economic benefits for local residents from the regeneration of the North Edinburgh area, and in particular the Granton Waterfront development.
Building on our strong track record of supporting the local community and delivering positive changes for the area, we will continue to offer the full range of services delivered by the Pilton Partnership, including the provision of community development support to local groups and community activists. But we want to do more than that.
We want to ensure that local training and employment initiatives are developed in a way that reflects local people’s needs and aspirations. We also want to create additional economic opportunities for the local community by initiating and supporting social enterprise development and acquiring and managing assets on behalf of the community. We intend to do this by collaborating with other agencies, identifying market opportunities and gaps in services and, where appropriate, by delivering services directly ourselves.
