Eco Fair

The North Edinburgh Trust is currently planning and Eco Fair to launch the NET Your Carbons project and promote other activities within the Trust. It is hoped this will be part of a larger community festival.

The event will be held on:

Saturday 26th September in Forth Quarter Park

(behind Edinburghs Telford College)

Annual General Meeting 28th February 2008

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM, such a good attendance contributes to a successful AGM. There are a lot of changes happening within the Trust and we are always grateful for your participation and comments.

We would also like to thank Frances Durie who recently retired as a Community Director of our Board of Directors. Frances served on the Board for a number of years and has volunteered locally for many more. She will be missed as a Community Director. Frances still works and volunteers in the community and we wish her well.

Two members of the North Edinburgh Young Peoples Forum spoke at the meeting about the things they have previously been involved with and what the future holds for the forum. You can contact Cammy Day at the North Edinburgh Trust to get more information or send a free SMS - text NEYPF and your message to 80800. You can also visit their website here

Thanks also to John Loughton who spoke passionately about young people and their involvement in the community. John is striving towards all generations working together and dispelling the myths that all young people are yobs, neds and hoodies. Young poeple have a lot to offer and working together we can make a difference. Additionaly the areas across Greater Pilton need to work well together and John suggested a Greater Pilton Gala Day. Congratulations to John (who was formerly a member of the NEYPF) on his recent Celebrity Big Brother win, this has afforded him some celebrity status and he has guested on various political TV programmes to champion young people. Well done John and very best wishes.
